Step 1

If using fresh tomatoes, bring a large stock pot of water to a boil. While the water is heating, wash your tomatoes. Boil the tomatoes for three minutes, until the skins start to split. Carefully remove the tomatoes and place them in ice water. Remove the skins, cores, and seeds if desired; you can use a food mill to remove the seeds.

Can you use a mason jar vacuum sealer?

No. Vacuum sealers are only for dry goods! They do not replace any type of canning.
